Write with your ears

You cannot hope to write music unless you listen to it, and the more types of music you listen to, the more food you give your creativity. Everybody learns by absorbing what they like. It is no crime to have influences in your music – but do not get stuck with too few. Do not be scared to take a piece of music you like and copy it – you may find some useful stuff that you can make your own. It has never been easier to hear all sorts of music, so make full use of it!
